What can ChatGPT do in Fortnox?
Essentially all of Fortnox is available. ChatGPT can search customers, suppliers and invoices, see what's paid and unpaid, create customer invoices, post entries, approve supplier invoices for payment, and export bookkeeping data as SIE files. Can ChatGPT change my books without me?
No. ChatGPT proposes changes and asks for your approval before writes are sent to Fortnox.
Is my data safe?
Yes. You sign in with Fortnox OAuth and Sidcom never stores your password. ChatGPT only acts within your existing Fortnox permissions, and all changes are made through your own Fortnox user and show up in Fortnox.
Which ChatGPT plans and apps does it work with?
ChatGPT on a paid plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The connector is added at chatgpt.com in your browser, not in the ChatGPT app, and is not available on the free plan. The same connector also works in other MCP clients.
Do I need to turn on Developer mode?
No, not any more. In today's ChatGPT you add the connector as an MCP app: Plugins, Add, Create MCP App. The steps are the same on Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise. Follow the step-by-step guide.
How is a license counted?
A licence is a user seat in one Fortnox company. If you work across several companies you activate the connector in each one and hold a licence per company, all on your Fortnox invoice, and no integration licence is needed. Can I use the connector across several Fortnox companies?
Yes. Activate the connector in Fortnox App Market for every company you work in, your own or your clients'. You get one licence per user and company, all on the same Fortnox invoice, and no integration licence is needed in any of them. Then add the companies in ChatGPT and ask across several of them in one question.
I have Digital Byrå, which company should I choose?
With Digital Byrå your company is listed twice when you choose a company in Fortnox, with different agreement numbers. Choose the one that is not marked Digital Byrå. If you connect to the Digital Byrå version, the licence is not found.
It says the licence is missing, or I land on the purchase page. Why?
The licence is assigned automatically when you connect, but only if the company has a free seat. A new user connecting needs the company to have bought enough licences. Connection not working?
Check that the licence is bought and activated on the company, that you choose the company without the Digital Byrå mark, and that there is a free licence. Add the connector at chatgpt.com in your browser, not in the app. If the connection drops, try another browser or temporarily turn off your antivirus' HTTPS scanning.
