Connect ChatGPT to your Fortnox.

First, the connector needs to be activated on your Fortnox account via the marketplace, by you or your administrator. After that, adding it to ChatGPT takes about a minute. Custom connectors run on a paid ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu) on web or desktop. Pick the setup that matches your account below.

Business & Enterprise

On ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu workspaces, an administrator adds the connector once for the whole workspace, then each member connects it to their own Fortnox. Watch the full walkthrough, or open your role below for the written steps.

Jump to
Administrator
  1. Open your workspace's Apps settings. Click your workspace name at the bottom left, choose Workspace settings, then open Apps in the admin console (chatgpt.com/admin/apps). Owners and admins only.
  2. Create the connector. Click Create (top right). In New App, enter a name (for example Fortnox), keep Connection on Server URL and paste the MCP server URL above, and leave Authentication on OAuth. Tick I understand and want to continue, then click Create.
  3. Publish it to your workspace. Your app appears under Drafts. Click Publish, confirm the risk checkboxes, then click Publish again. It moves to Enabled and becomes available to your members.

Members
  1. Find the Fortnox app. Open Apps in the left sidebar (chatgpt.com/apps), search for Fortnox and open it. On a workspace it carries an Internal badge.
  2. Connect it. Click Connect, then Continue to Fortnox. Choose which Fortnox modules ChatGPT may use, or keep them all, and confirm, then approve access in Fortnox.
  3. Ask away. Start a new chat and ask something like What is the amount on my latest invoice? You approve every change before it reaches Fortnox.
Personal account (Plus & Pro)

Custom connectors live behind Developer mode in ChatGPT, on web and desktop. You switch it on once, then paste the address above. ChatGPT asks for your approval before anything is written back to Fortnox.

  1. Open ChatGPT on web or desktop and go to Settings → Apps & Connectors.
  2. Under Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode and accept the notice about third-party connectors.
  3. Back on Apps & Connectors, click Create. Enter a name (for example Fortnox), keep Connection on Server URL and paste the MCP server URL above, and leave Authentication on OAuth.
  4. Tick the risk acknowledgement, click Create, then sign in with Fortnox on first use and choose which modules to turn on.

// troubleshooting

Connection not working?

  1. 01

Have you bought the ChatGPT Connector license?

You buy the license in the Fortnox marketplace.

  2. 02

Have you activated it via the activation link?

Activate the connector from the marketplace before connecting in ChatGPT.

  3. 03

Is the integrations module enabled in Fortnox?

Integrations must be turned on for your Fortnox account.

  4. 04

Are you on a paid ChatGPT plan, on web or desktop?

Custom connectors need a paid plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu). They aren't available on Free or in the mobile apps yet.

  5. 05

On a personal account, is Developer mode turned on?

On a personal Plus or Pro account, custom connectors sit under Developer mode (Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings). Workspace members don't need this; the admin publishes the connector for you.

  6. 06

On a workspace, has your admin published the connector?

On Business, Enterprise or Edu, an administrator has to create and publish the connector (Apps → Create → Publish) before members can connect it from Apps. Ask your admin if it isn't showing up.

  7. 07

Test with only the "Company information" scope

That shows whether the issue is a license problem with one of Fortnox's other modules, rather than the connector itself.
